Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is levity?

levity is a healing community designed to help people come back to themselves through a blend of therapeutic, embodied, and intuitive practices.

Our experiences bring together modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), yoga, meditation, journaling, energy healing, and other spiritual practices within a supportive community setting. Rather than focusing on a single approach, levity offers an integrated experience designed to support healing, self-discovery, connection, and growth.

Who is levity for?

levity is for anyone who is invested in their personal growth and healing journey.

Many of our participants are navigating life's complexities, including relationships, parenting, career transitions, family dynamics, loss, or major life changes. Whether you're new to this work or have been on this path for years, you'll find a welcoming and supportive environment.

You don't need prior experience with yoga, meditation, therapy, or spiritual practices to participate.

What makes levity different?

Most healing experiences ask you to choose a lane.

At levity, we bring together evidence-informed therapy, embodied movement, mindfulness, intuitive healing, and authentic community within one thoughtfully designed experience.

The modalities themselves aren't new. The way we integrate them is.

Our approach is grounded in the belief that healing is deeper, lighter, and more sustainable when it's experienced in community.

Is this therapy?

No.

While licensed clinicians may facilitate portions of the experience and therapeutic concepts such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) may be incorporated into programming, attending a levity experience does not establish a therapist-client relationship.

levity experiences are designed to support personal growth, self-discovery, and community connection, but they are not a substitute for individualized therapy or mental health treatment.

I've never done yoga or experienced other spiritual-based modalities. Will I feel out of place?

Not at all.

Many participants will be exploring some of these practices for the first time. Every experience is designed to be approachable, supportive, and beginner-friendly.

We believe curiosity is more important than experience.

Do I have to participate in everything?

No.

Participation is always an invitation, never an obligation.

We encourage everyone to engage with an open mind, but we also honor personal boundaries, comfort levels, and individual needs. You are always welcome to modify, observe, or opt out of activities as needed.

What is the retreat location like?

Our inaugural levity experience will be held at Cranberry Sunset Farm in Marstons Mills, Cape Cod, a beautiful nonprofit farm whose mission closely aligns with our own: helping people build confidence, resilience, and self-sufficiency through meaningful experiences and community.

Set among open fields, rescued farm animals, and the natural beauty of Cape Cod, the property offers a unique opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and step away from the noise of everyday life.

Participants are welcome to explore the grounds throughout the day and visit the farm's rescued animals, all of whom are lovingly cared for as part of the farm's mission.

While the setting is a farm, the experience itself is intentionally elevated and thoughtfully designed. The retreat will take place primarily inside a stunning modern-rustic event barn completed in 2023, featuring contemporary finishes, abundant natural light, and all the amenities needed for a comfortable, polished experience.

The retreat is primarily indoors and will take place rain or shine. The only outdoor portion of the experience will be our closing Fire Ritual, Sips & Sounds gathering. In the event of inclement weather, we will make appropriate accommodations while preserving the spirit and intention of the closing experience.

What should I bring to the retreat?

We'll provide a detailed packing and preparation guide prior to the event.

For our September experience, we recommend comfortable clothing for movement, a reusable water bottle, and anything else that helps you feel grounded and at ease.

A complimentary levity journal for you to use during the event and beyond will be provided as part of your registration.

Will there be food and drinks?

Yes.

Your registration includes a catered lunch, light bites, snacks, and beverages throughout the day. Vegetarian options will be offered.

During our evening gathering, a selection of beverages, including non-alcoholic options, will be available. While refreshments are part of the experience, the focus remains on connection, reflection, and community.

Will I be photographed or filmed?

We may capture photos and video during levity experiences for marketing and community storytelling purposes.

We understand some participants may prefer not to appear in photos or recordings. If that is important to you, please let us know upon arrival and we'll make reasonable efforts to accommodate your preferences.

What if I'm nervous about coming alone?

Many participants attend on their own.

In fact, some of the strongest connections are often formed between people who arrive knowing no one. Our experiences are intentionally designed to create a welcoming, supportive atmosphere where everyone feels included and comfortable.

You won't be the only one walking through the door solo.

What will I leave with?

While everyone's experience is different, many participants leave with:

  • A deeper understanding of themselves and their patterns

  • Practical tools they can apply in everyday life

  • Greater connection to their body and intuition

  • Meaningful new friendships and community

  • A renewed sense of clarity, possibility, and self-trust

Most importantly, we hope you'll leave feeling a little lighter—and a little more like yourself.
